Young Adult Division The Young Adult Division of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater (YAD) is open to adults ages 22 through 40 (inclusively). YAD is split into three arms: community building and service, leadership and philanthropy. The division holds monthly happy hours, major annual events such as the Purim party (March) and Outreach events. It also administers GesherCity Tidewater for its community calendar, resource center, message board and a list of cluster groups which you can join or initiate. YAD develops community leaders through its leadership development programs. It leads the annual grassroots community phone-a-thon, Super Sunday, with its Super Sunday Steering Committee. YAD’s Cabinet meets regularly and its members chair the division’s many programs and events. This year, YAD will experience its inaugural year with its intermediate leadership program, Hineni!, which culminates in a highly subsidized mission to YAD members make valuable volunteers and donors. YAD benefits from a wealth of resources provided by the community and does its part by giving back. It fundraises for UJFT’s Annual Campaign and for related causes. YAD currently has two philanthropic levels of giving: the Power of One Society and the national Ben Gurion Society….but even the smallest donation makes a difference! Many benefit from UJFT’s support, including, the Jewish Family Service, Beth Sholom Home and Jewish people in need locally, in Israel and around the globe.
