Childhood friends, Nour and Myriam find themselves at age sixteen full of conflicts fueled by their Nazi occupiers as well as their coming of age.

The neighborhood is a melting pot of cultures and conflicting viewpoints. The film, told through a series of flashbacks, captures the same riveting story from different perspectives. Israel has submitted the film for the Oscar as their choice for Best Foreign Language Film.

Zrubavel is the first feature length film created by Ethiopian-Israeli filmmakers.

The film was considered very controversial in 1947 and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture.

When the friendship is discovered, Proffy is branded a traitor. The film is a perfect mix of action, drama and comedy.
